Our workforce reflects the communities we serve—approximately 6 percent of our employees identify themselves as minority. Spokane County, home to our headquarters, has 8.5 percent minority population.
Roughly 30 percent of our employees will be eligible to retire in the next five years. However, we’ve planned for this shift in our demographics and we continue to develop our workforce to keep ideas fresh and leadership strong.
A safe and healthy work environment is an essential part of our commitment to all our employees. Fortunately we had no employee fatalities as part of our 2010 operations. Our focus continues to be on reducing the rate of vehicle accident and lost time incidents, because we want every employee to go home safely to their family at the end of their shift.
