Prices for Avista’s electric and natural gas service remain among the lowest in the nation. Currently our residential electric customers pay on average about $2.56 a day, and natural gas customers across all three states pay an average of $2.60 per day. That’s a solid value for safe, reliable energy to power our lives.

In addition to costs for building and maintaining the infrastructure to reliably deliver electricity and natural gas to customers, Avista’s prices also include surcharges for programs to assist customers. These are:

• Low income assistance programs provide energy assistance to some of our most vulnerable citizens.
• Energy efficiency programs provide rebates and incentives to customers to help better manage energy use which has a direct impact on energy bills and the environment.

Utility commissions in Washington, Idaho and Oregon oversee our rate structure and ensure that rates are fair for customers while allowing us to earn a reasonable rate of return.
