An in-home energy audit is a physical inspection of the home and its major appliances plus a series of diagnostic tests which help uncover opportunities to save energy.
A comprehensive report which the customer receives within a few weeks of the audit will help the resident develop a cost effective plan to improve the energy efficiency of their home.
This two year pilot program is designed for single family, manufactured or mobile homes and semi-detached duplex residents located in the boundaries of Spokane County.
The value of a typical, comprehensive home energy audit is approximately $400. Thanks to a combination of Avista energy efficiency funds and federal stimulus dollars, the cost of the audits will be significantly reduced.
Important Notice
As of May 15, 2012, the City of Spokane Valley is out of funding for the In-Home Energy Audit. These federal funds, which helped offset the cost for Spokane Valley residents, were allocated to more than 200 residents in the area to date. Non-subsidized audits are still available to Spokane Valley residents. To determine this cost, click the button below.
While residents of the City of Spokane or the unincorporated areas of Spokane County still have funding available, these funds are limited as well. The In-Home Energy Audit program is scheduled to end on September 30, 2012 or whenever the federal funds run out in those respective jurisdictions. The deadline for submitting the online audit registration form is August 15, 2012. All registration forms sent in by mail must be postmarked by midnight August 15, 2012. All registration forms will be subject to availability of funding at the time of their submission
