Taking the broad view on the Clark Fork.

Because we operate hydro projects on our region’s rivers, we’re accountable for more than effective, efficient generation. We’re responsible for protecting nature, too.

Our work on Montana and Idaho’s Clark Fork River provides a good case in point. In addition to generating energy at the Cabinet Gorge and Noxon Rapids dams, we’re restoring habitat for threatened bull trout, improving wetlands, monitoring water quality, safeguarding cultural and historic resources, and enhancing recreation sites.

Many of these efforts came about because we listen to our neighbors. In fact, when we applied for a new license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to continue operating on the Clark Fork, we asked tribes, conservation associations, property owners, non-governmental organizations, and local, state, and federal agencies to the table.

We believe that answers arrived at collaboratively serve us all.
