In the early morning hours of a Friday in early May, in front of more than 100 local business owners and community members, Scott Morris, Avista’s chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer, delivered the keynote address for the Greater Spokane Incorporated
Good Morning Spokane member breakfast in the downtown Red Lion Hotel.
It was a speech I hadn’t heard before, but it covered topics that we at Avista are discussing every day – things like rising energy prices and the economy, listening to our customers and operating as a regulated monopoly. It was refreshing to have Scott put this all together in one package. And the audience remained engaged throughout and even asked questions when it was over.
If you’re interested, Spokane’s City Cable 5, the government access channel, has begun airing a 30-minute version of the speech. View the July schedule listed here under, “Leaders & Lectures: Speaking on Spokane.”
for a two and a half minute segment from Scott’s speech concerning operating as a regulated monopoly. We’ll post a few more segments from the speech later this week, so check back. This link will open in a new window or tab.
