Food Service Equipment
Upgrade to qualifying high efficiency food service equipment and receive rebates from Avista. For details about this program and available rebates, see the Commercial Food Service Rebate Agreement and Equipment Table.
Commercial Fryers
Qualifying fryers must meet ENERGY STAR specifications. Fryers that have earned the ENERGY STAR® label are up to 25% more energy-efficient than standard models. ENERGY STAR® qualified commercial fryers include both gas and electric open-deep fat models. The energy efficient fryers offer shorter cook times and higher production rates through advanced burner and heat exchanger designs. The rebate for a qualifying natural gas fryer is $500 and $150 for an electric fryer.
Steam Cookers
ENERGY STAR® steam cookers are up to 60% more energy efficient than standard models. ENERGY STAR® qualified steam cookers include both electric and gas models. Minimum cooking efficiency must meet 50% (electric) and 38% (natural gas) while also meeting maximum idle energy rates. Energy efficient steam cookers offer shorter cook times, higher production rate and reduced heat loss due to better insulation and more efficient steam delivery system. In addition to saving energy, ENERGY STAR® qualified steam cookers also save water over standard steam cooker models. The rebate for a qualifying natural gas steam cooker is $500 - $630 and $450 - $720 for an electric steam cooker.
Hot Food Holding Cabinets
ENERGY STAR® qualified electric hot food holding cabinets are 60% more efficient than standard models. They are more efficient at maintaining food temperature while using less energy. They have better insulation which reduces heat loss and provides better temperature uniformity within the cabinet from top to bottom. Rebates for hot food holding cabinets are $300 - $500.
Refrigerators and Freezers
ENERGY STAR® commercial solid door refrigerators and freezers are more energy efficient because they are designed with components such as ECM evaporators and condenser fan motors, hot gas anti-sweat heaters or high efficiency compressors which will significantly reduce energy consumption and save you money. Compared to standard models, energy savings can be as much as 45%. For a list of qualifying Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) refrigerators and freezers please visit www.cee1.org.
Vent Hood Controls
Vent hood variable speed control uses exhaust temperature sensors and optic sensors, if applicable, to determine actual ventilation requirements. Fan speed is adjusted accordingly using a variable frequency drive (VFD). If the unit has a dedicated make-up air unit it is important that the make-up air unit fan is also controlled.
In addition to the kitchen equipment products listed above, Avista offers rebates for the purchase of high efficiency ovens, griddles, char-broilers, ice makers, hot water heaters and dishwashers.
